asked the Minister of Transport why he has failed to reply to letters from the hon. Member for Bury St. Edmunds sent to his Department on 7 August and 5 November 1979 concerning the complaints of the chairman of Suffolk county council in regard to the costs of a traffic census.

I can only apologise to my hon. Friend for the failure to reply to his letters which had, unfortunately, been lost in the Department.

I have written to him today.
