asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he will press for the European Community Council of Ministers to adopt the proposal for a directive concerning the prospectus to be published when securities are admitted to official stock exchange listing; and what progress is being made.

Mr. Eyre

I expect the Council of Ministers to adopt this directive shortly.
