How many wetland sites in the United Kingdom regularly support 1 per cent. (being at least 100 individuals) of the flyway or biogeographical population of one species of waterfowl and/or regularly support, either 10,000 ducks geese and swans, or 10,000 coot or 20,000 waders, and can therefore be identified as being of international importance for their waterfowl populations under paragraph 1 of the criteria recommended at the Heiligenhafen Conference held in December 1974.
§ Lord MOWBRAY and STOURTONThe Nature Conservancy Council, after consultation with the Nature Reserves Committee in Northern Ireland and voluntary conservation organisations, has so far identified 79 wetland sites in the United Kingdom which regularly support 1 per cent. (being at least 100 individuals) of the flyway or biogeographical population of one species of waterfowl and/or regularly support either 10,000 ducks, geese and swans, or 10,000 coot, or 20,000 waders.
