HC Deb 24 June 1980 vol 987 c156W
Miss Richardson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what action his Department has taken since 3 May 1979 on any recommendation of the Finer committee for which it is wholly or partly responsible.

Dr. Boyson

Those recommendations of the Finer report that touch on educacational issues fall largely to be dealt with by local education authorities, and by schools and teachers. In some cases the response is of a continuing or evolutionary nature. My Department continues to be in touch with other Departments on recommendations which deal with issues of joint concern.
