HC Deb 24 June 1980 vol 987 c147W
Mr. Michael Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will investigate the possibility of delinquent children being put into care with other families rather than in residential homes.

Sir George Young

The placement of juveniles who are made subject to a care order following the commission of a criminal offence is a matter for local authorities. An increasing number of local authorities are making special arrangements to enable these juveniles, where circumstances are appropriate, to be boarded out with families. I welcome this.
