§ Mr. Altonasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he intends to bring into force sections 1, 12 to 14 and 24 in part I and the remainder of part II of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.
§ Mr. FoxIt will not be possible to implement the outstanding provisions of part I of the Act as long as the need to hold down public spending remains the overriding consideration. However,666W we are still examining the expenditure implications of implementing part II and an announcement will be made as soon as possible.
