HC Deb 18 June 1980 vol 986 c574W
Mr. Ralph Howell

asked the Secretary of State for Industry what has been the amount of contributions paid out of public funds into the Post Office pension scheme for each year since the pension fund was set up.

Mr. Michael Marshall

Since the Post Office staff superannuation fund was established on 1 October 1969, quarterly payments of £11,250,000 have been made to its trustees as provided for by section 47 of the Post Office Act 1969, in consideration of the transfer of liabilities for the provision of pensions from the Exchequer to the Post Office.
