asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will introduce amending legislation to cover the case of mineral pipelines which fall outside ancillary rights under section 2 of the Mines (Working Facilities and Support) Act 1966 and fail to qualify under the Pipe-Lines Act 1962.

Officials from this Department and the Department of Energy are having discussions with the Confederation of British Industry about the possibility of amending the legislation. No decisions have yet been taken.
