§ Mr. Nicholas Bakerasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, in view of the effect on the age structure of the locality of the acquisition in rural areas of large blocks of new houses by urban local authorities, such as the Greater London Council, for housing retired people, he will seek to amend section 92 of the Housing Act 1957 so as to regulate this practice.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergI am not aware that the provision of retirement homes outside their areas by local authorities materially affects the age structure of the localities in which they are situated.
