§ Mr. Nicholas Wintertonasked the Minister of Transport when he will be appointing an inspector to chair an inquiry into observations and objections to the Macclesfield inner relief road, included in the main roads programme 1984.
§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeI hope that we shall be able to publish draft orders under the Highways Acts at about the end of this year. If there is any substantial body of objections or representations, a public inquiry will be held. It is too early to say exactly when such an inquiry would be held, but I hope that we will reach that stage before the end of 1981.
