The current average pithead price of coal burned in Great Britain is about £33.90 per tonne. Within this, average pithead prices of the main types of coal are

Power station coals 31–00
General industrial steam coals 36–60
Coking coals 45–00
Bituminous house coals 36–50
Domestic anthracites and dry Steam coals 56–80

Individual coals may vary considerably from these averages according to quality and coalfield.
