HC Deb 04 June 1980 vol 985 c769W
Mr. Tom Benyon

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how much money will be saved by the proposal to relocate the Didcot Department of Health and Social Security office in Abingdon and replace it with a temporary caller office in Didcot.

Mrs. Chalker

The change of status of the Didcot NIO to a caller office and the transfer of other work to Abingdon NIO is expected to save £18,000 in a full year on basic staff costs. In addition, there will be savings on the cost of premises and of administration, which are not readily quantifiable.
