HC Deb 02 June 1980 vol 985 c556W
Miss Wright

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he is satisfied that the West Midlands regional health authority will be able to fund the difference between the 18½ per cent. recommended pay award for doctors and dentists and the 14 per cent. Government cash limit on additional funding for pay awards without making changes which severely affect patient care throughout the region.

Dr. Vaughan

It is for the West Midlands regional health authority to determine how to allocate its resources within its overall cash limit in order to meet pay and other commitments. I am sure that it will give full regard to the need to maintain patient services.
