§ Mr. Ernie Rossasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish details of cases submitted to the Scottish Office within the past three years dealing with the reorganisation of schooling or closing of schools by a regional authority showing (a) the date of the reorganisation or closure was approved by the authority, (b) the date of the submission of its case to the Scottish Secretary and (c) the date of the Scottish Secretary's decision.
§ Mr. Alexander FletcherThe table attached sets out the available information about applications for approval to school closures received during the period 1 June 1977 to 30 May 1980. Information is not held centrally about the dates when the education authorities concerned decided to propose closures. Comparable information on reorganisation proposals cannot be made available without disproportionate cost, but if the hon. Member has any specific proposal in mind I shall be glad to give him such information as is readily available.
