Mr. James Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make available to Monklands district council additional funds to undertake work on improving the houses at Park Road, Calderbank, in view of the unemployment problem in the area; and if he will make a statement.

Monklands district council was informed on 21 February 1980 of its housing capital allocations for 1980–81. Within the resources available it is a matter for the district council to determine the relative priorities of the various programmes in its housing plan. I see no prospect of making additional funds available.
