HC Deb 02 June 1980 vol 985 c512W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the latest available estimate of the cost of building a new headquarters for the Dyfed/Powys police at Carmarthen, including the cost of the building, equipment and accessories required for effective operation; and what loan charges are involved in its provision.

Mr. Brittan

Planning on this scheme has not yet been completed but on present information the estimated cost of the building—including fixed furniture and fittings—could be of the order of £3–8 million. It is not yet known what the cost of the communication equipment will be or what level of loan sanction will be needed by the authority.
