HC Deb 02 June 1980 vol 985 cc494-5W
Mr. McNamara

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what discussions have been held in the National Economic Development Council and any of its committees, sub-committees or working groups, indicating which committees and working groups, on the subjects of import controls, managed trade and dumping.

Mr. Parkinson

United Kingdom trade policy and United Kingdom industry's international trade performance have been discussed on a number of occasions by the National Economic Development Council, the last one being the Council's meeting in February. All sectoral committees of the National Economic Development Office were asked by the Council, in its 1979 steering brief, to monitor and to suggest ways of improving their industries' performance in home and overseas markets.
