HC Deb 02 June 1980 vol 985 c582W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment, in view of the fact that the London borough of Newham has to pull down several of its tower blocks and that there are in consequence adverse effects on the housing programme, loss of income and cost, if he will discuss with the borough provision of special financial assistance.

Mr. Geoffrey Finsberg

Discussions on the financial implications of alternative proposals for the tower blocks at Newtown and Stratford Points were held last January between the Department and officers of the London borough of Newham.
