asked Her Majesty's Government:
What is the rate of tariff imposed on United Kingdom exports of wool cloth and garments to Australia, Canada, Taiwan, USA, Korea and Brazil respectively compared with the tariffs imposed on like goods from those countries imported into the United Kingdom.

The information is as follows:—

Woollen fabrics Woollen garments

UK (EC Tariff) 13% 10.5%–20% mainly 17%–18%

Australia 34% 34%;46½% or51½%

Brazil 205% 205%

Canada 21% or 27½% 27½%;or 21% plus 13.3 C per lb

Korea 60% 60%

Taiwan $175–220 per metre 100%^*

USA 37½ C per lb plus either 20% or 38% 42½% or 37½ C per lb plus 21 % on fob

^*Duty calculated on cif value plus 15%.
