Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how many new access agreements have been negotiated in English national parks in the last 12 months; if he will list them; and if he will list those under discussion at the present time.

I am informed by the National park authorities that four access agreements have been negotiated in the last 12 months. These are at:

Heltor Rooks (Dartmoor)
Shaptor Wood (Dartmoor)
Grindslow Knoll (Peak District)
Edale (Peak District)

Those under discussion are:

Stops End Wood,
 Rydal (Lake District)
Extension to Stanley
 Gill, Eskdale (LakeDistrict)
 Harthope Valley (Northumberland)
 Lyke Wake Walk (various sections under different ownerships) (North York Moors)
 Goyt Valley (Peak District)

Access arrangements which form part of general management agreements are not included in the above.
