asked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster how much Government assistance is being given to ethnic art.

Within my field of responsibility many libraries, museums and arts bodies have a strong interest in ethnic art. The Arts Council estimates that it spent about £¼ million in this area in 1979–80.
