asked Her Majesty's Government:

What arrangements are being made to phase the proposed EEC price for fat lamb into the existing National Scheme so as to prevent disruption in the slaughtering trade.

The detailed arrangements for implementing the proposed Community sheep regime have yet to be agreed. In discussing them with the Commission and our Community partners we shall bear in mind the desirability of avoiding disruption of trade on the introduction of the regime.
