HL Deb 23 July 1980 vol 412 cc503-4WA
Lord AVEBURY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What action they take in order to ensure that Members of both Houses who are interested in the promotion of racial equality are kept properly informed of the Government's policies on this matter, and whether they will circulate copies of the speeches they make about racial equality to those Members without waiting to be asked.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, HOME OFFICE (Lord Belstead)

Information about Government policies is provided to Members of both Houses through the ordinary process of parliamentary business, public discussion and ministerial correspondence. Copies of ministerial speeches delivered outside Parliament are normally available to Members on request and some are placed in the Libraries of both Houses. We see no reason for any change in these arrangements.

House adjourned at ten minutes before nine o'clock.
