HC Deb 10 July 1980 vol 988 c263W
Mr. Whitehead

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many refugees from Cambodia he expects will take up residence in Great Britain in the next year;

(2) how many refugees from Cambodia have been given permanent residence in Great Britain since January 1979;

(3) how many of the refugees from Cambodia who have been given permanent residence in Great Britain since January 1979 already had close relatives in Great Britain.

Mr. Raison

Since 1 January 1979, entry clearance has been granted to 168 Cambodian refugees, most of whom have close relatives in Great Britain. This figure is the only available guide to the numbers likely to be accepted next year.
