§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations he has received from chief constables regarding the marketing of devices to detect police radar signals.
§ Mr. RaisonNone.
§ Mr. George Robertsonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions have been brought, and how many convictions there have been, of persons for using devices for detecting police radar signals.
§ Mr. RaisonWe are aware of only one such prosecution since 1974, which was unsuccessful. One company which advertised such devices has, however, been convicted of inciting persons to commit offences under the Wireless Telegraphy Acts by using unlicensed equipment for wireless telegraphy, and a further similar case has yet to be dealt with by the courts.
