HC Deb 07 July 1980 vol 988 c35W
Mr. Sproat

asked the Secretary of State for Wales, for the latest available 12-month period, what is the total number of non-teaching staff employed in each local education authority in Wales; and what were the figures in each of the past five years.

Mr. Michael Roberts

I regret that figures relating to individual education authorities are not available to me. For Wales as a whole average numbers of non-teaching staff have been:

1975–76 24,406
1976–77 23,923
1977–78 23,510
1978–79 23,434
1979–80* 23,403
