Mr. Wall

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what were the quotas for each European Economic Community member State in 1978 and 1979 for North Sea cod, haddock and whiting.

Mr. Buchanan-Smith

No allocations of quotas between member States were agreed for the stocks mentioned for either year.

Mr. Wall

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the total North Sea cod, haddock and whiting catch by all countries in 1978 and 1979, respectively; and how much was caught by European Economic Community countries.

The following catches of cod, haddock and whiting in the North Sea have been reported to ICES for 1978 and 1979:
