§ Mr. Buchanan-Smith[pursuant to his reply, 30 June 1980, c. 457]: In the period 1977 to 1979, the price of EEC butter was on average rather more than £900 per tonne higher than the world price of New Zealand butter. The corresponding figure in the last three years before the United Kingdom joined the EEC was approximately £400 per tonne.
