asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will consider introducing legislation to regulate the production and availability of do-it-yourself alcohol breathalyser apparatus, in view of the likelihood of the inaccuracy of such apparatus.

No. We do not commend the practice of self-testing, but we consider that it is up to individual drivers to make their own decision whether to use these devices.
