§ Mr. Nealeasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement about the causes of the crash of a Royal Air Force Hunter at Tintagel on 6 July 1979.
§ Mr. PattieThe investigation into this accident has now been completed. In accordance with the new procedure I announced to the House on 15 January 1980, the Ministry of Defence has today published a summary of the circumstances and causes and a copy has been placed in the Library of the House.
I should like to take this opportunity of once again expressing my sincere regret to the people of Tintagel for the distress, loss and other inconvenience which the accident caused to them and to express the Government's gratitude to them for the assistance they afforded to the RAF following the accident.
