HL Deb 03 July 1980 vol 411 cc733-4WA
Lord HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will provide details of the contracts made in 1979 for the supply of military equipment from the United Kingdom to the following countries: Argentina, Chile, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea and Syria, in view of their doubtful record on human rights and civil liberties.

The MINISTER of STATE, MINISTRY of DEFENCE (Lord Strathcona and Mount Royal)

No. It has been the practice of successive Governments not to reveal details of individual defence sales.
