§ Mr. Cryerasked the Attorney-General if he will seek to impose a retiring age for judges in the Court of Appeal.
§ The Attorney-GeneralA retirement age of 75 was imposed on the holders of various high judicial offices, including the office of judge of the Court of Appeal, by section 2 of the Judicial Pensions Act 1959. That provision applies to any person who was appointed to such an office after the Act came into force on 17 December 1959. It does not apply to a person who was appointed before that date unless he so elects.
