§ Mr. Carter-Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his Department's policy on the use of Depo Provera following post-partum rubella vaccination in National Health Service hospitals.
§ Dr. Vaughan[pursuant to his reply, 20 December 1979, c. 372]: Women are advised to avoid pregnancy for at least three months following rubella vaccination, but the Department does not recommend the use of any specific form of contraception to be used in these circumstances. Under the terms of its product licence, Depo Provera is licensed for use in women who are being immunised against rubella and this is mentioned in the data sheet which is issued to all doctors.
