§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will make a statement on the findings of the European Court in respect of the application of the closed shop in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Patrick MayhewThe European Court has not made any findings in respect of the application of the closed shop in the United Kingdom. The European Commission on Human Rights has adopted its report on the case taken to it by three ex-British Rail men concerning the closed shop in British Rail. The report will be sent later this month to the Committee of Ministers but will, by rules of the European convention, remain confidential at this time.
