HC Deb 26 February 1980 vol 979 c543W
Mr. Marlow

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether there are circumstances under which a woman of 60 years, living on her own without other financial resources, is not entitled to an amount at least equivalent to a single person's retirement pension.

Mr. Prentice

In the unusual circumstances of such a woman living rough or having deprived herself of financial resources, or where such a woman was engaged in a trade dispute, she might not be entitled to receive supplementary benefit help of as much as the amount of the basic retirement pension. If my hon. Friend has a specific case in mind he may care to write to me about it.
