Mr. Frank R. White

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the numbers and proportions of the total population of each of the metropolitan districts of Greater Manchester claiming supplementary benefit and family income supplement respectively, to the nearest current date for the past five years; and how this compares with the United Kingdom as a whole.

No breakdown of supplementary benefit recipients is available for individual districts—other than the city itself—within Greater Manchester.
