§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (1) it the United Kingdom's insistence on an increased quota for Britain has resulted in the European Economic Commission's target production for A and B quotas and, therefore, its exports surplus being increased; and if so how this relates to the International Sugar Agreement export quota of 2 million tonnes raw value offered to the European Economic Commission at the International Sugar Conference in Geneva in 1977;
(2) if he is satisfied that his efforts to secure an increased beet quota for the United Kingdom will not result in any African, Caribbean and Pacific sugar which has traditionally come to Britain being excluded from the United Kingdom market, or in the African, Caribbean and Pacific cane sector being required to contribute to the cost of any marketing difficulties in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Buchanan-SmithMy right hon. Friend has not sought an increased beet quota for the United Kingdom.
