§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Security what discussions he has had concerning amending the regulations so that an employee only has to prove reasonable exposure to radiation in order to claim industrial injury or industrial death benefit if he contracts leukaemia or other related illnesses;
(2) if he is satisfied that the present qualifying conditions for the payment of industrial injury or industrial death benefit for those workers who contract leukaemia or other related illnesses as a result of exposure to radiation at their place of work are adequate to ensure sufficient compensation to those workers so affected.
