§ 38. Mr. Douglasasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the educational aspects of the Finniston report on engineering.
§ Mr. MacfarlaneThe Government are still considering all aspects of the report of the committee of inquiry into the engineering profession, the Finniston report, and have sought the views of a large number of organisations, including major educational organisations, with an interest in the report. In addition, my right hon. and learned Friend has established a steering committee to organise a national conference on the education and training of engineers, to take place in October.
