HC Deb 05 February 1980 vol 978 c110W
Mr. George

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what effect the cutting of the grant to consumer advice centres will have on the number and quality of such centres (a) nationally, (b) in the West Midlands and (c) Walsall.

Mr. Eyre

Until local authorities have taken their final spending decisions it will not be completely clear how many consumer advice centres will remain open nationally. I understand that within the West Midlands the centre at Walsall might continue and the work of the other centres be absorbed by the citizens advice bureaux.
