Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what action he has taken since May 1979 in respect of a replacement vehicle for the invalid tricycle; if he has considered the vehicle produced at Manchester college of technology; and what conclusion he has reached concerning its suitability for bulk production.

The amounts for 1980–81 will be notified to RHAs with their cash limits as soon as these have been determined. There are no permanent regional secure units yet, but there are presently over 140 places in interim secure units.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans have been made by regional health authorities to meet the target of 1,000 places in regional secure units by 1985; and where the places will be wanted, giving figures by region or by area.
