HC Deb 18 December 1980 vol 996 c249W
Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what steps are being taken in Wales, by his Department, to recognise in a practical manner the International Year of Disabled People 1981.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

I have made a grant to the Wales Council for the Disabled for the establishment and servicing of a voluntary committee to co-ordinate the activities of the voluntary sector in Wales for the International Year of Disabled People. I am also funding an access for the disabled building awards scheme and have invited voluntary youth organisations to submit ideas for a special development project specifically aimed at achieving the objectives of IYDP with a view to grant-aiding the best submission. Details of the awards will be announced in due course.
