Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what are the obligations of a British citizen for military service in time of war: and how these will be affected by the proposals for a change in United Kingdom nationality law.

Mr. Raison

The present law contains no obligations for the performance of military service, and nothing in the forthcoming Bill will alter the position.
