HC Deb 17 December 1980 vol 996 c182W
Mr. Ray Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what percentage of housing stock in South Wales is regarded as unfit for human habitation; and what percentage of this total could be saved if sufficient money was available.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

From the results of the Welsh house condition survey carried out in 1976 it was estimated that 9.6 per cent. of the housing stock in the counties of Gwent, Mid-Glamorgan, South Glamorgan and West Glamorgan was unfit. Approximately 75 per cent. of unfit dwellings are considered to be improvable.
