asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will publish in the Official Report the most recent figures of the number of houses completed for occupation in the private and public sector and by housing associations in Mid-Glamorgan this year and for the same month in each year since 1971.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The information is given below.

Mr. Ray Powell

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is the average cost to local authorities in Mid-Glamorgan for a three bedroomed house in 1980 and for each year since 1970; and what is the total cost to a local authority for purchase and repayment of loan over a period of 60 years, based on the average cost per house in 1980.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The average costs excluding cost of land to local authorities in Mid-Glamorgan of building three bedroomed houses are given below.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The information requested is as follows for 30 June 1979:

Year
1977 £10,109
1978 £ 11,803
1979 £12,046

Comparable information prior to 1977 is not readily available and the 1980 information is not yet complete.

At the current Public Works Lending Board interest rate of 13½ per cent. a loan of £ 12,046 would be repayable over 60 years at an annual rate of £1,627.
