HC Deb 04 December 1980 vol 995 cc142-3W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will make a statement on the EEC Commission decision to impose duty on vinyl acetate imports.

Mr. Eyre

On 21 November the European Commission imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty of 10.6 per cent. on imports of vinyl acetate monomer from the United States of America. Certain United States exporters who had not been shown to be dumping by the Commission's preliminary investigations were excluded from the duty as was one exporter who had voluntarily undertaken to raise his prices.

Commission Regulation (EEC) No. 2999/80 imposing the duty was published in the Official Journal of the European Community No. L311 of 21 November 1980, which is available in the Library of the House.
