§ Dr. BoysonMy right hon and learned Friend has received a letter from the Lancashire local education authority enclosing, for his information, a copy of the decision of the industrial tribunal in respect of Miss Thelma Davies's complaint of unfair dismissal. The Department is not responsible for the appointment, employment and dismissal of teachers. The question of Miss Davies's reinstatement is, therefore, entirely a matter for the local education authority.
