HC Deb 08 August 1980 vol 990 c353W
Dr. Roger Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether he is satisfied with the number of beds and general facilities for geriatric patients in each of the health authorities in Wales; and what increases in beds will become available for each authority during the next (a) year and (b) two years.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The priority for geriatric services which has been accorded by successive Governments is being maintained and I have no evidence to suggest that health authorities' services for the elderly are not meeting demands within the limits of their resources. Details about any planned increases in bed numbers may be obtained from the authorities themselves.
