§ Mr. Pavittasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will ensure that no final decision is reached by a regional health authority on the boundaries of the district health authorities within its region until the hon. Member representing a constituency affected has been consulted.
§ Mr. Patrick JenkinI will decide the boundaries of district health authorities after considering recommendations made by regional health authorities. Before making their recommendations, regional health authorities are required to consult hon. Members with a constituency interest.
I do not expect to be in a position to make any decision until around the end of March 1981.
