§ Mr. Kenneth Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many recipients of earnings-related supplement for unemployment benefit had been in receipt of it during earlier periods of unemployment.
§ Mr. Prentice[pursuant to his reply, 3 April, 1980, c. 394]: The precise information requested is not available, but special analysis of the data makes it possible to estimate that of the 209,000 recipients of earnings-related supplement to unemployment benefit at the end of 1978, almost 50,000 had received earnings-related supplement during at least one previous spell of unemployment during 1978.
